Antoine Didry-Demarle
A graduate of the Conservatories of Geneva, Berlin and Paris, Antoine Didry-Demarle began his career at the age of 12. A member of the Duo Métamorphoses, the Trio Thalberg, the Ensemble Links and the Duo Brahms, he has since led an eclectic career as a pianist combining recitals, conferences, chamber music and performances. In 2005, at the Victoria Hall in Geneva, he produced the world premiere of the Feuillets inédits for piano and ondes-Martenot by Messiaen. He performs at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, at the Tonhalle in Zürich or at the RSI Auditorium in Lugano under great conductors such as Laurent Gay, Stefan Ashburry and Heinz Holliger.
Winner of the Moncalieri International Piano Competition, Antoine Didry-Demarle is the guest of many festivals and performs regularly throughout Europe as well as in Armenia with the pianist Sona Igityan. Supported by Societe Generale Patronage, in 2007 he carried out the Listening / Inventing / Sharing project at the Bamako Conservatory in Mali. In 2010, he also recorded the CD Images Croisées around the piano works of Debussy, Brahms and Liszt.
His tastes for nature and contemporary music naturally led him to the music of John Cage, whose complete Sonatas and Interludes for prepared piano he recorded. Since 2015, Antoine Didry-Demarle has regularly distinguished himself at the Via Lattea Festival in Lugano, notably with the integral performance of Olivier Messiaen's Catalogue d'Oiseaux, produced in the middle of the forest. He is now Professor at the Paris Conservatory and is regularly called upon for conferences and concerts.
